  9. This is a conversion of the spectrum classic Viking Raiders! The game is a
  10. 4 player war game where the players can be upto 4 humans or 4 computers.
  11. You must battle it out with the enemy and buy armies, catapults and boats
  12. with which to defeat the other vikings.
  13. It uses parts of code from the spectrum emulator ZXAM by Antonio J. Pomar
  14. Rossello and the original Spectrum version was made by FireBird Software.

  16.  The Game GUI

  19. The game is pretty self explanatory, double click on the icon and then
  20. click on 'PLAY' to play. Other options include :-
  21.  
  22. Load VikGame - Loads a previously saved game of Viking Raiders Se.
  23. Reload       - Reloads the current Viking Raiders game loaded
  24. Save VikGame - Saves the current game of viking raiders
  25.  
  26. Use Arexx    - Loads an Arexx script    ] Not available
  27. Abort Arexx  - Quits the arexx script   ]     yet
  28.  
  29. Poke         - If known allows old spectrum pokes to be used
  30. Spectrum DOS - Returns you to the original Spectrum Screen
  31.  
  32. Save Format  - Chose the save format for Viking Raiders, most formats
  33.                will allow the save game to be interchangeable between
  34.                Spectrum Emulators.

  36. Once playing the game, 'ESC' will return you to the GUI, from here you can
  37. do any of the above options, saving will save the exact point in the game
  38. reached.

  40.  The Game

  43. In the game you will be asked for a demo game, this will show 4 computer
  44. playings against each other. A guide to the graphics will show you what
  45. each symbol means. Once you decide to play the game you will have a chance
  46. to decide how many human/computer players are playing and what colour they
  47. will be, aswell as configuring their names. Then the game will draw a map
  48. and you can play, providing the map is accepted by all players. Then the
  49. War begins!! it is really quite simple so there is no point in me explaining
  50. it all, if you're playing it youve no doubt enjoyed it on the Spectrum anyway!
